Key Responsibilities

  • •Facilitate and ensure implementation of district-approved Child Find processes and data collection policies.
  • •Serve as a daily resource on Child Find issues for administrators, leadership teams, and other stakeholders.
  • •Provide ongoing training and support to staff on Child Find and data collection procedures, including MTSS.
  • •Support teachers with documenting student progress and coordinate student management program documentation for Child Find meetings.
  • •Coordinate pre-referral and referral processes, complete initial special education evaluations and associated forms, and make referrals to appropriate specialists within mandated timeframes.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of related professional experience (or equivalent education and experience).
  • •Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply IDEA and FERPA guidelines.
  • •Ability to travel 20% of the time.
  • •Ability to clear required background check.
  • •Any Teaching Certificate; if certification is from another state, obtain West Virginia reciprocity within 60 days of employment.
