Job Summary

Deliver biodiversity net gain (BNG) assessments for UK infrastructure and development projects, supporting feasibility and design-stage reporting, Habitat Management Plans, and Welsh NBB assessments. Produce and technically review ecological work, collaborate with the UK&I BNG lead to develop the BNG Vision, and support training and consultation with clients, planning authorities, and statutory stakeholders. Contribute to bids and technical queries while working with digital and data teams to advance biodiversity tools.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver ecological BNG inputs for internal and external clients across the UK.
•Produce and technically review biodiversity assessments, including BNG feasibility/design reports and Habitat Management Plans.
•Support development of BNG Vision with the UK&I BNG lead as biodiversity needs evolve across the UK.
•Assist with training to upskill ecologists and provide support for BNG technical queries.
•Engage clients and project stakeholders (planning authorities, statutory bodies, and the public) and input to bids/tenders for BNG services.

Key Requirements

•A degree (or equivalent) in ecology or a related subject, and membership of an appropriate professional institution (such as CIEEM).
•Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and policy.
•Experience delivering biodiversity assessments through suitable professional experience.
•Experience interpreting UKHabs data and Habitat Condition Assessments.
•Experience reviewing technical work, supporting wider team members, and contributing to bidding/tendering.
