Job Summary

Senior Distribution Electrical Designer responsible for developing detailed designs for electric distribution systems (120/240V–69kV), producing construction-ready drawings, coordinating with clients and internal teams, and supporting project execution from design through construction in a multi-location NYC-area NY region with a focus on safety, codes, and efficient delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute projects of varying complexity to meet client needs in the Distribution Services Department.
•Interface with internal and external resources to complete quality project deliverables.
•Build knowledge of clients and local market to grow WSP’s presence in the region.
•Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, surveys, blueprints, schematics, and other drawings to support drafting and design activities.
•Under minimal supervision, use 2D CAD tools and coordinate with engineers to resolve design details and prepare precise construction drawings.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-education experience in discipline with prior drafting and design support experience.
•Highly familiar with drafting and design support principles, practices, process, methods and techniques.
•Highly familiar with relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to convey ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
