Job Summary

Lead cross-functional ML/DS/data engineering projects to design, scale, and operate innovative systems for a Latin American e-commerce/fintech marketplace. Build and validate ML models, manage data pipelines and APIs/microservices, and drive product-focused projects with a focus on impact, scalability, and operational excellence. Hybrid work model with offices in Florianópolis or Bogotá.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and scale innovative and secure systems that solve high-impact problems and leverage modern engineering practices.
•Estimate weights, dimensions and natural attributes using Machine Learning (or statistical/heuristic methods when appropriate).
•Validate and consolidate inputs from different sources, detecting inconsistencies, outliers and errors/frauds.
•Define a golden record of attributes with traceability and versioning, impacting key Shipping processes (cost, promised delivery, routing, capacity).
•Integrate transversally with MELI ecosystem via APIs/services, ensuring adoption and scalability.

Key Requirements

•Solid experience in Machine Learning / Data Science / Data Engineering / Data Architecture (ideally applied to production products)
•Experience building estimation/validation solutions (regression, classification, anomaly detection, rules, hybrid models)
•Knowledge of data pipelines and service-oriented architecture (APIs, microservices, events)
•Technical leadership and project management: planning, prioritization, cross-coordination, incremental deliveries
•Product-oriented with focus on impact, scalability and operational excellence
