Key Responsibilities

•Data Center Heat Rejection and HVAC System Design: Develop heat rejection and HVAC systems tailored for data centers, considering cooling types, loads, future flexibility, airflow management, humidity control, redundancy, energy efficiency, and industry standards.
•Cooling System Selection: Select air/water side cooling systems (Fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water, DX, CRAC, in-row cooling, containment) based on data center requirements and equipment criticality.
•Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis: Conduct internal and external CFD to optimize airflow, identify hotspots, and recommend design modifications; coordinate changes with other trades.
•Redundancy and Fault Tolerance: Design HVAC systems with backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring to ensure continuous operation.
•Heat Load Calculation and Capacity Planning: Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning for IT equipment, power density, growth, and phasing; include admin/common areas.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 150,000 - 195,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
•Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation
•P.E. registration is required
•Preferred: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering or related field; knowledge of data center TER Topology (TIA 942, ANSI/BICSI 002) and LEED/CEM/BEMP certifications would be advantageous
