Job Summary

Lead or support the structural design and analysis of maritime and coastal infrastructure, covering ports and harbour structures across new build, refurbishment, and rehabilitation. Work across the project lifecycle from concept and feasibility through detailed design and construction support, ensuring designs are safe, sustainable, and compliant with UK and international standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, conduct surveys and inspections, and deliver technical reports, drawings, and tender documentation.

Job Function: Construction, Civil & Site Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake structural design and analysis of maritime and coastal structures using relevant design codes.
•Develop concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for new build and refurbishment projects (e.g., quay walls, jetties, breakwaters).
•Perform stability, bearing capacity, and durability assessments under wave, current, and corrosion effects.
•Design and specify fendering systems, mooring arrangements, and scour protection measures.
•Prepare and review technical reports, design drawings, specifications, tender documentation, and conduct site inspections and condition surveys.

Key Requirements

•MEng or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
•Strong civil/structural design background, ideally with marine or coastal infrastructure experience.
•Sound understanding of structural behavior, materials (concrete, steel, sheet piles), and marine loading conditions.
•Familiarity with British Standards, Eurocodes, and maritime guidance documents.
•Eligible and able to obtain Security Clearance (SC level).
