Key Responsibilities

  • •Support Japan expansion by partnering with growth and corporate development teams to build supplier and industry relationships.
  • •Drive pre-contract strategy by defining scope, developing proposals, and generating term sheets during international capture phases.
  • •Serve as the supply chain voice in go/no-go decisions using market intelligence and risk assessment.
  • •Develop and qualify regional suppliers across commodity categories; lead selection, onboarding, and performance management for Japanese partners.
  • •Provide advisory support on sourcing strategy and ensure compliance with Japanese regulations, while bridging engineering and manufacturing execution across teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • •8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or procurement focused on contract manufacturing, preferably in defense/aerospace/advanced technology.
  • •Proven success negotiating and managing complex manufacturing agreements with Japanese suppliers, including cross-cultural relationship building.
  • •Professional fluency in Japanese and English (written and verbal) to influence stakeholders across organizational levels.
  • •Regulatory expertise in Japan’s compliance landscape, including FEFTA, defense equipment transfer principles, and export controls/dual-use technology regulations.
