Key Responsibilities

  • •Become familiar with automated fastening systems (SWS, SPR, ABF), investigating and recommending cost-effective improvements.
  • •Design, develop, and update mechanical systems for new applications, systems improvements, and cost savings.
  • •Participate in new/existing product launches using FMEA, DVP&R, and 8D methodology; use DFMEA to capture lessons learned and drive improvements.
  • •Provide expert assistance to manufacturing and repair teams for troubleshooting malfunctions in components and systems.
  • •Coordinate specification, build, and installation of complete systems to meet customer requirements, including technical support to internal/external customers as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years of related, on-the-job mechanical design and development or applications development experience (preferred).
  • •Understanding of mechanical engineering theory and general drafting skills.
  • •2+ years of Unigraphics (UG) design experience and PDM system experience (PTC/Windchill) at user level (preferred).
  • •2+ years of FEA and/or CFD experience or coursework (preferred).
  • •Experience with automated/automotive products and automation products (preferred), with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
