Key Responsibilities

  • •Study specifications and measure/cut boards using templates and hand/power saws.
  • •Fasten, install, and repair containers using hammer, nailing machines, or power staplers.
  • •Fabricate, repair, modify, and replace woodwork for crates, pallets, dunnage, and restraints; ensure proper preservation before shipping.
  • •Pack, seal, band, and apply markings; obtain shipping documentation and load freight onto commercial conveyances.
  • •Inspect railcars for serviceability and assist/direct tie-down and blocking/bracing for military vehicles/equipment and MILVANS according to specifications.

Key Requirements

  • •High school graduate or equivalent.
  • •Working knowledge of power saws and basic woodworking principles.
  • •2 years of woodworking experience and knowledge of packaging and preservation principles and techniques.
  • •Working knowledge of WPM program and ability to obtain WPM Custodian Certification.
  • •Must be able to obtain/maintain a forklift license and required HAZMAT certification, and hold a valid driver’s license (with proof of vehicle insurance).
