Job Summary

Build and own TikTok Search’s vertical and short-drama search quality and relevance. Apply multimodal understanding to align photo-text/genre semantics and improve cross-modal matching, then optimize relevance and quality using LLM/VML technologies. Implement and optimize vertical search models end-to-end—from training and inference to deployment—while ensuring online stability. Conduct technical pre-research in semantic understanding and relevance matching to advance the team’s competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

•Iteratively optimize TikTok vertical or short-drama app search quality and relevance algorithm directions.
•Solve multimodal pain points such as semantic alignment and cross-modal matching deviation by integrating visual features and text semantics.
•Improve relevance models and vertical search experience quality using LLM/VML technologies.
•Implement vertical search algorithm models and perform full-process optimization across training, inference, and deployment, ensuring online stability.
•Track cutting-edge technology trends and conduct pre-research and innovative practices to advance semantic understanding and relevance matching.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or above in a computer-related major with strong coding skills, including proficiency in C++ and/or Python, and familiarity with data structures and programming algorithms.
•Strong machine learning foundation with algorithm design and modeling skills, and familiarity with at least one of ML, data mining, NLP, image processing, multimodality, or large models.
•Ability to analyze and solve complex problems with initiative, curiosity, and strong communication and collaboration skills.
•Familiarity with search business characteristics and experience in content search and recommendations.
•In-depth understanding of image quality evaluation, content relevance judgment, and multimodal content understanding.
