Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide on-scene command and control (C2) support and maintain/manage the Emergency Operations Center when tasked or appropriate.
  • •Perform detection, sampling/collection, and mitigation actions of unknown substances, including contamination control procedures.
  • •Provide CBRNE C2 support and reconnaissance, and support specialized team management for accidental release, contingency operations, and terrorist use scenarios.
  • •Support homeland defense and emergency preparedness, including coordination with civilian authority through the installation commander.
  • •Develop and manage EM planning, inspections, training, records, exercises, working groups, and required reports and documentation (e.g., 702 Plan and IEMP 10-2 Plan).

Key Requirements

  • •Must have received the United States Air Force 3E9X1 Emergency Management specialty code and been formally awarded the 3E971 craftsman skill level.
  • •Must have 4+ years of experience performing in an EM management or supervisor capacity, leading a team of Emergency Managers.
  • •Currently qualified as International Fire Service Accreditation Congress and National Fire Protection Act hazardous materials technicians.
  • •Completed NETOP I and II training.
  • •High school diploma or GED equivalent, with a valid driver’s license.
