Key Responsibilities

  • •Secure cargo for discharge from ships and/or loading to trucks/rail from ship holds or the dock.
  • •Assist with general terminal operations duties across terminal areas as assigned, using completed training in railcar, truck, warehousing, and vessel operations.
  • •Perform housekeeping and general maintenance and keep assigned equipment or tools in working condition.
  • •Execute terminal functions as trained and instructed by the supervisor, including maintaining necessary records for customer orders.
  • •Work all shifts and weekends, including 12-hour shifts, and operate safely in all weather conditions.

Key Requirements

  • •Responsible for the safe, efficient unloading and loading of bulk and packaged commodities using established procedures and policies.
  • •Work in ship’s hold or on the dock securing cargo for discharge from ship and/or loading to truck/rail.
  • •Complete extensive training in railcar, truck, warehousing, vessel operations, safety, and environmental requirements as assigned.
  • •Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform terminal functions in all types of weather conditions.
  • •Meet and maintain respiratory protective equipment certification as required by OSHA 1910.134 and secure/maintain a TWIC card as a condition of employment.
