Key Responsibilities

•Secure cargo for discharge from ships and/or loading to trucks/rail from ship holds or the dock.
•Assist with general terminal operations duties across terminal areas as assigned, using completed training in railcar, truck, warehousing, and vessel operations.
•Perform housekeeping and general maintenance and keep assigned equipment or tools in working condition.
•Execute terminal functions as trained and instructed by the supervisor, including maintaining necessary records for customer orders.
•Work all shifts and weekends, including 12-hour shifts, and operate safely in all weather conditions.

Key Requirements

•Responsible for the safe, efficient unloading and loading of bulk and packaged commodities using established procedures and policies.
•Work in ship’s hold or on the dock securing cargo for discharge from ship and/or loading to truck/rail.
•Complete extensive training in railcar, truck, warehousing, vessel operations, safety, and environmental requirements as assigned.
•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform terminal functions in all types of weather conditions.
•Meet and maintain respiratory protective equipment certification as required by OSHA 1910.134 and secure/maintain a TWIC card as a condition of employment.
