Key Responsibilities

  • •Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to perform DFM/DFA reviews, guiding process and material selection and tooling qualification plans.
  • •Lead technical reviews and validation of tooling designs (mold layouts, gate placement, cooling, parting lines, ejector pin layouts) and troubleshoot with suppliers/toolmakers.
  • •Drive tooling deliverables across NPI phases (Alpha, EVT, DVT, PVT) to support OK2TOOL and OK2FAB approvals.
  • •Manage ODM/CM tooling build progress, trial runs (T1/T2), root-cause troubleshooting, and yield improvements on the manufacturing floor.
  • •Establish tooling maintenance standards and run supplier on-site audits; partner with Quality/SQE on PPAP SOPs and dimensional/cosmetic qualification.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • •8+ years of hands-on engineering experience in high-volume manufacturing, including plastic injection molding, die casting, and sheet metal stamping/bending.
  • •In-depth knowledge of tool design, tool steel selection, mold/die fabrication, heat treatment, and post-processing (e.g., CNC machining, deburring, plating, surface finishing).
  • •Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD) and simulation software (e.g., Moldflow/CAE tooling analysis).
  • •Knowledge of DFM/DFA, GD&T, engineering drawings, and quality frameworks (PPAP, ISO/IATF 16949).
