Key Responsibilities

  • •Collaborate with suppliers on DFM feedback, review injection molding output, and approve tooling via molding trials.
  • •Down select early design concepts with design engineering by providing supplier feedback on materials and manufacturing methods.
  • •Serve as the technical point of contact for RFx efforts and develop technical data packages used to solicit bids from suppliers.
  • •Drive ECR and PCN activities with suppliers and contain supplier quality issues; investigate root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • •Perform supplier assessments, audits, and site inspections; develop and drive process improvement plans and maintain performance metrics.

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Engineering (mechanical/industrial/plastics engineering preferred); MS preferred or equivalent experience.
  • •5+ years hands-on in New Product Introduction (NPI) for automotive plastic & composite development.
  • •Deep knowledge of thermoplastic molding and secondary processes such as injection molding, extrusion, and compression molding.
  • •Experience taking multiple new products from concept through production and using product lifecycle management tools (e.g., Auros, Arena PLM).
  • •Strong quality toolbox knowledge (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T) with technical writing skills.
