Key Responsibilities

  • •Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for interior communications on marine vessels and in shipyard facilities.
  • •Troubleshoot and repair onboard electrical equipment and cables, applying advanced technical knowledge to resolve complex issues.
  • •Perform fleet modernization alterations and installations on U.S. Navy surface ships, including electrical wiring, coaxial cable, or fiber optic work.
  • •Read and interpret schematics and blueprints, complete installation/disconnection reconnection tasks for electrical and data conductors, and inspect completed work for conformance.
  • •Support removal and installation of cables and connectors across bulkheads, overhead areas, and decks while following quality and safety procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain, and ability to obtain a CAC card.
  • •High school diploma, GED, or industrial/trade school certificate.
  • •Minimum five years of experience operating, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on-board Navy vessels, U.S. Coast Guard vessels, or MSC/Maritime vessels, with practical shipboard experience with HM&E systems.
  • •Familiarity with one or more Interior Communications (IC) systems (e.g., MC, HYDRA, IVN, IVCN, SATCC, SIWCS).
  • •Prior experience working with fiber optic cables and multi-pin connectors, including electrical troubleshooting and testing with multimeters and megohmmeters.
