Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

  • •Install a variety of cables (multi-core, single core, co-axial) and electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches, etc.).
  • •Perform cable termination and install electrical equipment to trade standards.
  • •Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • •Collaborate with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of electrical installations.
  • •Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards, including safe proving-dead procedures and safe proving/tag-out practices.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 40,016

Key Requirements

  • •Provide Modern Apprenticeship / trade papers when applying and complete a Modern Apprenticeship (SVQ Level 3) or equivalent trade qualification.
  • •Hold a SJIB card.
  • •Have experience working in marine installations or major industrial environments.
  • •Be familiar with risk assessments and safe working requirements including PUWER and COSHH.
  • •Read and follow trade drawings, electrical schematics, technical instructions, and tag-out and safe proving-dead procedures.
