Job Summary

Lead and grow Framework’s Device Software team, responsible for embedded firmware and UEFI BIOS across laptops, desktop, and peripherals. You’ll manage and mentor engineers, guide device firmware efforts at JDM partners, and take hands-on ownership of core architecture and implementations. Partner closely with Electrical Engineering and Program Management to align firmware releases with hardware milestones, drive best practices like CI and automated regression testing, and ensure post-launch sustaining work including security updates and OS improvements.

•Manage and mentor a team of three device software engineers, growing the team over time.
•Direct and guide firmware and BIOS engineers at JDM partners.
•Own hands-on architecture and implementation of embedded firmware for one or more products on the roadmap.
•Set engineering excellence standards, including automated regression testing and AI-assisted development workflows.
•Work cross-functionally to align firmware releases with hardware NPI milestones and lead post-launch sustaining (security updates, bug fixes, OS updates, and feature improvements).

Key Requirements

•8+ years of embedded software development experience, including 3+ years managing engineers.

•Strong understanding of PC architecture and electrical systems related to firmware development.
•Experience in highly leveraged execution using external partners effectively.
