Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise clients on cost management strategies, including vendor prequalification, proposal/bid assessment, bid interviews, and bid levelling recommendations.
  • •Develop and review project estimates, present estimates and value engineering recommendations, conduct risk assessments, and benchmark costs using data from other projects.
  • •Establish reporting schedules and manage cost reporting/forecasts, including budget vs. spend review, maintaining a commercial risk register, and running periodic meetings.
  • •Lead cost control activities such as payment application assessment, entitlements recommendations, change order review and recommendations, and dispute prevention/management/resolution for contractual issues.
  • •Manage invoicing and post-contract accounting, including post contract audits, account close outs, post-contract reviews to create lesson learned materials, and procedures for project handover.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
  • •Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in a cost management role in the construction industry.
  • •RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable.
  • •Experience supporting cost management on medium or large sized construction projects.
  • •Strong communication skills and good knowledge of construction industry technical matters (procurement routes, value management, and value engineering).
