Key Responsibilities

  • •Evaluate, recommend, install, and support radar LAN hardware and software aboard the vessel.
  • •Maintain technical expertise across network and computer hardware/software interconnections (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, computer systems).
  • •Archive data, transfer archived data off the marine vessel, and perform configuration management of system software.
  • •Manage user accounts and system security settings.
  • •Support mission operations staff and work closely with data processor and signal processor system engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Pass an annual mariner physical examination.
  • •Experience administering and troubleshooting computer systems in a networked or standalone environment, including computing hardware and operating system installation.
  • •Experience with NetApp NAS and clustered Data ONTAP (cDOT).
  • •Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, including DNS, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • •Maintain the ability to live and work with others in close quarters for extended durations at sea.
