Key Responsibilities

  • •Work with foundation program strategy teams to form investment theses and source Sub-Saharan Africa investments through outreach and relationship-building.
  • •Execute new investments by joining deal teams to lead evaluation, due diligence, financial modeling, structuring, and negotiation of legal documentation.
  • •Present investments to the foundation’s Investment Committee.
  • •Support portfolio management, including facilitating interactions between portfolio companies and program teams and helping identify/mitigate strategic, financial, and legal issues.
  • •Ensure high-quality, consistent communications with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •Background as an Analyst, Associate, or Principal from a venture capital, growth equity, leveraged buy-out, investment bank, or strategy consulting firm.
  • •Experience identifying and/or assessing investment opportunities and supporting commercial and financial due diligence.
  • •Experience supporting transaction execution and building trusted relationships with founders, management teams, and C-level executives.
  • •Interest in principal investing with strong commercial judgment and intellectual curiosity aligned to social impact.
  • •Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively across internal and external stakeholders in diverse cultural contexts.
