Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform field-level overhaul and repair work on chassis group units for internal combustion vehicles.
  • •Diagnose the source of trouble and determine the exact nature and extent of repairs required.
  • •Overhaul and repair engines, power transmissions, suspension, steering, braking systems, and related electrical, fuel, hydraulic, wheel, and engine assemblies.
  • •Complete assigned overhaul procedures within time allotted using technical manuals, lube orders, and technical bulletins.
  • •Use specialized testing and measuring equipment to troubleshoot component malfunctions during final testing and repair as needed; direct junior/helper mechanics as required.

Key Requirements

  • •High school graduate or equivalent.
  • •Three years of experience in vehicle maintenance as a worker, helper, or apprentice level.
  • •Experience maintaining military vehicles and the Army Maintenance System is a plus.
  • •Must be able to perform overhaul and repair work using technical manuals, lube orders, and technical bulletins.
  • •Must be able to obtain a license to operate a forklift.
