Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct regular planned maintenance, inspections and repairs of structural and mechanical components.
  • •Respond to equipment breakdowns and structural defects within required timeframes.
  • •Undertake welding repairs and refurbishment activities to the required standard.
  • •Inspect plant and equipment for wear, damage and structural integrity issues, ensuring equipment is safe and fully tested before return to service.
  • •Source spare parts and technical information, use the maintenance management system for stock and job card details, and provide timely shift handovers while ensuring compliance with safe work practices.

Key Requirements

  • •Successful completion of a Boilermaker trade qualification (Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent).
  • •Extensive experience undertaking welding repairs, maintenance and inspection on heavy fixed plant and mobile equipment.
  • •Demonstrated experience with MMAW (stick), MIG and/or FCAW welding processes.
  • •Ability to interpret technical drawings, maintenance procedures and manufacturers’ specifications.
  • •Must hold or be eligible to qualify for an MSIC card. Ability to work irregular day/night shift engagements including weekends.
