Job Summary

Drive the development of enterprise generative AI solutions for Visa’s Corporate Generative AI CGAI Technologies team. You’ll define GenAI technical vision and architecture, lead end-to-end implementation of LLM-based capabilities (RAG, agentic workflows, document summarization), and integrate features into existing products with product, data science, and platform teams. As a Staff Engineer, mentor engineers, enforce best practices (CI/CD, testing, secure coding), and support responsible AI governance while using Azure, Python, and vector databases.

Key Responsibilities

•Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for GenAI initiatives, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
•Lead end-to-end development and implementation of GenAI solutions, including coding and prototyping core components integrating LLMs with frameworks such as LangChain.
•Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and platform engineers to integrate GenAI features into existing products and workflows across teams.
•Provide technical leadership and mentorship, including code reviews, pair programming, and advising on solution design; may lead micro-teams or pods.
•Establish and enforce software development best practices for GenAI projects, including testing, CI, code review rigor, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), and responsible AI governance.

Key Requirements

•6+ years of software development experience with substantial hands-on AI/ML or GenAI work, including 2-3 years building applications with LLMs or related AI technologies.
•Advanced understanding of large language models and generative AI techniques such as prompt engineering, fine-tuning, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for knowledge bases.
•Advanced proficiency in Python for AI/ML development; familiarity with Java or other object-oriented languages and GenAI frameworks/libraries such as LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, or OpenAI APIs.
•Hands-on cloud experience with Azure preferred (or AWS/GCP) and ability to deploy AI solutions at scale; experience with vector databases for embeddings and semantic search.
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (Masters/PhD in AI/ML or equivalent hands-on experience is a plus).
