Key Responsibilities

  • •Work on large systems and hardware enablement projects across cross-geo development teams; represent the team technically with internal and external partners.
  • •Collaborate with partner software development teams to jointly develop solutions on ESXi.
  • •Tackle full-stack work from bootloader to configuration scripts and contribute to research for new solutions.
  • •Maintain a high quality bar and assist in solving customer issues as needed.
  • •Foster a research mindset to identify and architect future capabilities for ESXi.

Key Requirements

  • •BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent and 12+ years of relevant industry experience; or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent and 10+ years of relevant industry experience; or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent and 7+ years of industry experience.
  • •Excellent C programming skills
  • •Solid understanding of modern microprocessor architectures (multiprocessor programming, cache architecture, barriers, etc.)
  • •Strong operating systems and kernel internals knowledge (Linux/BSDs/Windows NT)
  • •Good knowledge of modern computer systems, especially around I/O - x86 PC or ServerReady Arm (PCI, ACPI, IOMMUs, DMA, UEFI, etc.)
