Job Summary

Operate and control asphalt plant production and load out, ensuring the equipment runs efficiently and production follows the schedule. Monitor material operations to maintain quality of mix, perform basic maintenance and service, and clean the control house and yard daily. Oversee truck scales and truck loading, enter production information into computer systems, and support communications and reporting as needed, including some night work.

Key Responsibilities

•Read work schedules and determine the sequence of operations.
•Operate the plant according to the production schedule using appropriate materials.
•Monitor material operations to ensure quality of mix.
•Perform basic maintenance and service on plant equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor.
•Oversee truck scales/loading, clean facilities daily, enter production information into computer systems, and handle other assigned duties.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED; 1-2 years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination).
•Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos; ability to write correspondence and memos.
•Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
•Knowledge of inventory and order processing systems; ability to use job-specific computer systems for ticketing and two-way radio for communications.
•Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus).
