Job Summary

Lead geotechnical design and delivery for projects across the Island of Ireland and the wider UK/international markets. Prepare, review, and check geotechnical documents from desk study through ground investigation, interpretation, and final design. Own technical decisions in client and internal reviews, support bids and proposals, and mentor junior staff. Work with a Belfast-based ground engineering team on energy, water, defence, highway, and railway commissions.

•Mentor junior staff through personal and professional development and on-the-job guidance.
•Lead geotechnical input across the project lifecycle from feasibility/desk study through ground investigation, interpretation, and final design.

Key Requirements

•BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or BSc/MSc in Geology/Engineering Geology/Earth Science, or MSc in Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Geology (desirable).
•Chartered Engineer (IEng/CEng) or Geologist (CGeol) status preferred, or able to achieve within the next year.
•Strong knowledge of UK and Irish ground conditions and ground investigation practices, including interpretation/correlation methods.
•Experience in geotechnical design (e.g., earthworks, foundations, retaining structures, slope stabilisation) using relevant design software.
•Knowledge of Eurocode and British/Irish Standards, plus application of CDM Regulations / Safety in Design in design and ground investigation environments.
