Key Responsibilities

  • •Debug complex issues across Python applications, frameworks, dependencies, CI/CD, runtime environments, and platform integrations.
  • •Build tooling, automation, and diagnostics to make problems easier to prevent and resolve.
  • •Become a trusted expert on Netflix’s Python platform and developer tooling.
  • •Turn recurring developer pain points into improvements in tooling, documentation, workflows, and platform capabilities.
  • •Partner with Python Platform and other engineering teams to solve problems that cross system boundaries.

Key Requirements

  • •Demonstrated software engineering experience building, debugging, or operating production systems.
  • •Proficiency in Python, including debugging and contributing to production code, libraries, or frameworks.
  • •Understanding of Python packaging and dependency management, including pip, pyproject.toml, virtual environments, and wheels.
  • •Experience with Python frameworks and development tooling such as FastAPI and Flask.
  • •Hands-on debugging across multiple layers (dependencies, build/CI/CD, runtime, concurrency/async I/O, distributed systems, or service-to-service integrations).
