Job Summary

Deliver ELL instruction in a virtual environment for Tennessee Virtual Academy, creating engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences and personalizing instruction based on student mastery. Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system, maintain grade books, and support families and learning coaches with timely communication and troubleshooting. Prepare students for standardized tests and occasionally travel for in-person events, testing, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide rich synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
•Personalize learning for all students and differentiate instruction by mastery level.
•Augment course content using prescribed asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from principal and coach.
•Maintain grade books, make placement/promotion decisions, and alert administrators to student concerns.
•Communicate regularly with students and learning coaches/parents, and travel occasionally for events and testing.

Travel: Medium travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 50,000

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree AND an active state teaching license.
•Tennessee ELL teaching certificate.
•Ability to clear required background check.
•Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
•Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday.
