Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and chair PSSR reviews and ensure PSSR integration with commissioning priorities, startup philosophy, and SIMOPS.
  • •Drive technical & safety assurance by verifying mechanically complete and fully tested systems and validating safety-critical systems.
  • •Ensure hazard study actions (HAZOP/HAZID/SIL) are closed or formally deferred; confirm operating procedures and emergency readiness are complete and approved.
  • •Manage brownfield-specific risks (live plant interfaces and SIMOPS, tie-ins/positive isolation, and operational/space constraints) and coordinate safe system handover.
  • •Lead and manage PSSR coordinators and discipline engineers; resolve critical issues, approve justified deviations, provide go/no-go recommendations, and report overall PSSR status with full documentation/audit trail.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 10 years’ experience in commissioning and startup, including refinery or petrochemical projects.
  • •Proven experience leading PSSR activities and startup of major process systems.
  • •Brownfield project execution experience.
  • •Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and international standards (OSHA PSSR principles, API, IEC).
  • •Leadership and team management experience, with strong stakeholder management and decision-making ability.
