Job Summary

Support mechanical engineering work for buildings and infrastructure projects in the public and private sectors. Collect and analyze site data, review drawings and permits, and assist with designing and verifying mechanical systems such as automatic temperature control, air distribution, hydronic, and plumbing components. Prepare technical documentation, calculations, drawings, and reports, maintain quality control, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to help ensure compliant, safe, and functional project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Collect, compile, and analyze site and design data (surveys, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings) to support project development and construction.
•Conduct engineering work and research/inspections to determine conformance of site conditions, equipment, and mechanical systems with rules, standards, and permits.
•Assist with design requirements, load calculations, modeling techniques, and operating strategies for mechanical equipment and systems.
•Verify system characteristics and provide technical assistance for automatic temperature control, air distribution, hydronic, and plumbing systems.
•Prepare technical documentation, calculations, drawings, charts, reports, and support health and safety planning for project execution.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
•3 to 5 years of relevant post-education mechanical engineering experience, including mechanical design.
•Engineer in Training Certification.
•Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices for design/build and project work.
•Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including rehabilitation and new design.
