Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct tool and fastener qualification testing to confirm compatibility with tracker components, access, fit, torque performance, clamp load, and field usability.
  • •Perform form-fit-function testing for new concepts, prototypes, pre-production assemblies, and installation interfaces to validate design intent and installation requirements.
  • •Validate updated/revised designs by testing parts and full assemblies for manufacturability, mechanical performance, installation repeatability, and compatibility; then recommend improvements.
  • •Qualify new vendors and manufacturing sources by executing first-article form-fit-function and qualification testing and providing structured feedback to sourcing and engineering teams.
  • •Document test results and maintain installation documentation, approved tool lists, and fastener qualification records while coordinating with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of experience in product testing, mechanical systems, fastening/tool qualification, quality engineering, or installation engineering; or a BA/BS in engineering or a related discipline.
  • •Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, product notes, fastener requirements, and installation documentation.
  • •Hands-on experience with measurement and testing tools including torque tools, Skidmore equipment, 3D scanners, thread gauges, calipers, sockets, bits, and drivers.
  • •Ability to test and qualify fasteners, torque methods, mechanical joints, and field assembly processes.
  • •Familiarity with Arena, Jira, and SolidWorks/CAD systems, plus ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in outdoor R&D environments.
