Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform maintenance, overhaul/refurbish, and installation of mechanical equipment for vessels with minimal environmental impact.
  • •Read and understand layout/assembly drawings and works specifications; follow equipment manuals and installation guides to class society standards.
  • •Work on engines, steam systems, pump systems, deck machinery, and hydraulics systems.
  • •Set up alignment and dimensional control checks; execute lifting/rigging and Permit to Work requirements as the responsible technician.
  • •Maintain servicing/repairs under manufacturer recommendations (including SAP recommendations), ensure housekeeping, and support tool accountability and safety/regulatory recordkeeping.

Key Requirements

  • •Certification or qualifications as a marine fitter with proof of training and experience.
  • •Experience installing and repairing mechanical equipment.
  • •Several years minimum trade experience in the marine industry.
  • •Offshore oil & gas and marine certification/training as required.
  • •Ability to interpret technical drawings/schematics and work with machining and welding tasks (including lathe experience and welding).
