Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as a technical lead preparing traction power design drawings, documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, proposals, calculations, and technical studies for electrified railways.
  • •Prepare and guide work for one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, and substation equipment specifications.
  • •Perform protective relay settings and coordination studies for traction power systems.
  • •Recommend actions to ensure compliance with client requirements and standards, including AREMA railway standards and National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), IEEE C2, and other applicable US standards.
  • •Conduct site investigations and walk-downs in high-voltage substations and along electrified railroads; be able to travel nationally as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) plus 6 years of traction power design experience with 750 V DC third rail and overhead distribution systems (including specified AC/DC configurations).
  • •Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • •Experience with traction power AC/DC, high- and low-voltage systems including relaying, rectifier, distribution, and SCADA equipment.
  • •Experience leading traction power design calculations, plans development, specifications, and technical report writing.
  • •Knowledge of AREMA and IEEE standards for traction power design.
