Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop one or two ML solutions end-to-end, from ideation with business stakeholders through deployment and monitoring.
  • •Work on modeling problems across pricing, claim processes, customer contact center, and operations (including classification, regression, anomaly detection, survival modeling, time series, and LLMs).
  • •Use the next-generation Databricks-hosted data platform to build and deploy solutions across Allianz Direct countries.
  • •Extend the machine learning platform for development and deployment in both batch and API inference modes, and collaborate with engineers to embed deployed models into processes.
  • •Contribute to evolving ways of working and internal packages, and participate in weekly knowledge sharing.

Key Requirements

  • •Located in the Netherlands and able to work from the office location in Rotterdam as this is a hybrid role.
  • •MSc or PhD in a relevant technical field (e.g., computer science, data science, physics, econometrics, engineering).
  • •Strong foundation in machine learning fundamentals, applying algorithms for classification, regression, and other predictive problems.
  • •At least 3 years of experience in a similar data science or ML engineering role.
  • •Python programming experience (pandas, scikit-learn) and experience with hyperparameter tuning across models, including boosting models.
