Job Summary

Work on geotechnical projects supporting the UK&IE team, delivering technically robust foundation and slope stability work (including metro-related underground elements). Develop and review geotechnical reports, perform desk studies and ground investigation reporting aligned with Eurocode 7, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams. You’ll manage project delivery with budget responsibility, ensure SHEQ compliance (including CDM), and provide client liaison and professional advice to raise the geotechnical division’s profile.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop technically competent geotechnical reports and deliver best-value services to clients using efficient working practices.
•Support project delivery including financial analysis, client liaison, public/statutory consultations, quality control, and managing specialists, contractors, and sub-consultants.
•Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams on geotechnical projects while providing professional advice to build relationships and raise the division’s profile.
•Manage and deliver project work with robust project financial management and budget responsibility for delivery of projects/services.
•Work in accordance with accepted methods and legislation (including CDM) and operate to WSP SHEQ standards, taking ownership for SHEQ management across the geotechnical team.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in civil engineering with geotechnical engineering/soil mechanics and foundation engineering specialization.
•5 to 8 years’ experience designing foundations, slope stability, embedded retaining walls, and settlement analysis for infrastructure projects (especially metro).
•Proven experience with metro projects, including under-ground elements design, ground movement assessment, embedded retaining systems, and diaphragm wall design.
•Experience conducting geotechnical desk studies and preparing/checking Ground Investigation Reports in line with Eurocode 7 Part 1.
•Ability to use geotechnical design software and produce geotechnical design reports with familiarity of design submission documentation.
