Key Responsibilities

  • •Contact policyholders regarding property claims within assigned level of authority, conduct investigations and interviews, inspect damage, and prepare estimates.
  • •Evaluate and recommend coverage and total claim value, determine payments, set and maintain reserves, and obtain/review required claim documents.
  • •Document claim files and submit final reports for closure; identify subrogation situations and initiate appropriate action.
  • •Service assigned territory and bring claims to conclusion, including handling damages/coverage and coordinating or negotiating for litigated claims as required.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED and two years of claims handling experience (or equivalent), or successful completion of Erie-sponsored formal education, or a bachelor’s degree.
  • •Ability to live in the assigned territory unless an approved change is made by the company.
  • •Willingness to pursue and complete Technical Learning Center Training within one year of hire date.
  • •Willingness to obtain and maintain required licenses; valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
  • •Ability to serve on catastrophe duty, including travel on short notice to other locations for periods over two consecutive weeks.
