Job Summary

Join the TikTok Data Team to help build and improve large-scale recommendation systems powering livestreaming. You’ll optimize ranking and diversity strategies using deep learning and advanced modeling approaches like representation learning, multi-task learning, causal inference, and sequence modeling. Partner closely with product and operations teams to connect algorithm advances to user experience, creator growth, and platform revenue goals. Key Responsibilities

•Participate in the livestreaming recommendation algorithm and contribute to a world-class large-scale recommendation system.
•Optimize recommendation core algorithms and strategies (recall, coarse ranking, fine ranking, mixed ranking, diversity) using deep learning and related modeling techniques.
•Improve recommendation technology by modeling ecological roles of users, creators, and platforms to drive user experience, creator growth, and platform revenue.
•Work closely with product and operations teams to integrate business characteristics into technology and support business development goals.
•Commit to at least a 3-month internship period with either January–June or May–August (Summer) availability.

Key Requirements

•Final year or recent graduate with a background in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
•Solid programming foundation with knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
•Strong theoretical foundation and extensive practical experience in machine learning/deep learning, familiar with at least one mainstream deep learning framework.
•Ability to analyze and solve problems; strong communication, proactive work style, responsibility, and teamwork skills.
•Strong preference for candidates who have published papers at top conferences, won ACM/machine learning competitions, or have experience in core algorithm businesses such as large-scale recommendation systems, computational advertising, and search engines.
