Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide age-specific, patient-centered care using the nursing process, including assessment, continual critical care assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • •Coordinate and plan critical care/clinical pathways, prioritize care based on individual needs, revise care plans as necessary, and initiate appropriate transfers.
  • •Document relevant data in the medical record according to hospital/departmental standards and ensure availability and maintenance of unit supplies and equipment.
  • •Ensure safe handling and administration of Narcotic/Controlled and Semi-Controlled Drugs with required documentation, and complete unit competencies (e.g., pain management) and mandatory education.
  • •Perform NICU-specific interventions/procedures per established standards of care, including administering Hepatitis B vaccine to neonates, managing incubators, assisting with intubation, assisting with lumbar punctures, and performing PICC dressing changes.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in nursing (minimum of three years full-time) or a nursing degree (minimum of two years) with registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
  • •Must hold a valid license/registration to practice in their home country and/or most recent country of employment.
  • •Minimum of 2 years of recent post-graduate experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • •Must hold a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or others according to scope of practice).
  • •Ability to provide age-appropriate care based on developmental needs and perform assessment of patients and families’ physical and psychological needs.
