Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as the senior technical lead for heavy mechanical systems on hydropower and dam projects.
  • •Establish design criteria and engineering basis for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • •Perform or oversee engineering calculations, analyses, and equipment selection, and prepare/review/approve technical deliverables.
  • •Coordinate mechanical engineering activities with civil, structural, and electrical disciplines.
  • •Support construction through shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, site inspections, commissioning activities, and mentor junior engineers/technicians.

Salary: CAD 120,000 - 170,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • •At least 6 years of experience designing heavy mechanical equipment for hydropower facilities.
  • •Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or eligible for immediate registration.
  • •Ability to work independently, manage complex assignments, and provide sound technical recommendations.
  • •Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French.
