Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee, manage, and direct day-to-day operation and maintenance of utility and energy assets in the newly constructed cogeneration facility to supply steam and electrical power.
  • •Lead cogen startup activities by providing weekly updates, participating in daily construction meetings, overseeing commissioning/testing, and coordinating optimization with the controls integrator and commissioning agents.
  • •Supervise and direct daily activities of plant staff (including Operating Engineers) and develop operating and safety procedures for plant startup.
  • •Manage third-party vendors and contractors, ensure contract deliverables are met, and act as the onsite liaison between the company and the customer.
  • •Develop and manage the annual O&M budget, implement cost-saving measures, conduct employee safety training, and maintain close working relationships with stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma (or equivalent) plus at least 7 years of supervisory or managerial experience in powerhouses, utility systems, chemical processes, or similar plant assets, or an associate’s degree/industry certificate plus 5 years, or a bachelor’s degree plus 3 years.
  • •Supervisory or managerial experience overseeing operation, maintenance, and administration of power/utility/chemical plant assets.
  • •Working knowledge of powerhouse equipment and systems, including gas turbines, steam boilers, electrical distribution, heat exchangers, water treatment, transformers, motors, pumps, piping/valves, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • •Knowledge of regulatory processes under which the facility operates.
  • •Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
