Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan, design and coordinate research activities and programmes on multimodal language comprehension, ageing and cognitive neuroscience.
  • •Develop and implement experimental paradigms using controlled naturalistic video materials, MEG and RIFT, including stimuli, protocols and data acquisition.
  • •Coordinate participant recruitment and testing, including ethically robust participant-facing materials and consent/ethics applications.
  • •Analyse behavioural and neurophysiological data (including MEG/RIFT) using appropriate statistical and computational methods.
  • •Publish results (manuscripts, conference presentations) and supervise/advise PhD students, while contributing to research leadership and broader engagement activities.

Salary: GBP 36,636 - 48,822 annually

Key Requirements

  • •PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, psycholinguistics, ageing research, language science, neuroscience, or a closely related discipline.
  • •Extensive research experience in language comprehension, multimodal communication, cognitive ageing, attention, prediction, speech perception, or related areas.
  • •Strong organisational ability to plan, undertake and project-manage research to deliver high-quality results.
  • •Experience conducting inclusive research with older adults or other participant groups requiring accessible and ethically robust procedures.
