Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop optimization models to minimize material cost while meeting performance requirements across product structures and recipes.
  • •Create scheduling and process optimization models (including transition waste minimization) to improve product-to-asset matching.
  • •Develop and deploy analytics tools and predictive models to improve R&D design speed, throughput, and robustness, including early risk detection and material property prediction.
  • •Champion R&D digital transformation by scaling advanced analytics, optimization, AI, and automation solutions.
  • •Act as a subject-matter expert for R&D systems and data structures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align analytics tools with enterprise standards and ensure high-quality data pipelines.

Key Requirements

  • •MS or PhD in Data Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • •5+ years (3+ with PhD) of industry experience in operations research, data science, and/or technical engineering.
  • •Expertise in mathematical optimization and proven proficiency in statistical modeling and machine learning.
  • •High proficiency in Python and SQL, including building or contributing to data pipelines.
  • •Experience with optimization solvers (HiGHS, Gurobi, CPLEX) and knowledge of polymer science, film extrusion, or food-packaging interactions is highly preferred.
