Job Summary

Design and develop backend systems for the User Squad, building clean, scalable distributed architectures as Sephora grows. You’ll help deliver reliable, personalized user and loyalty experiences to Sephora’s 1.4M monthly active users across Southeast Asia and Oceania through Ecommerce platforms. Work on high-visibility projects impacting customer lifetime value, including event-driven microservice integrations and localized experiences across multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop robust backend services and clean, scalable distributed systems.
•Deliver reliable user and loyalty experiences across the SEAO Ecommerce system.
•Work on high-visibility projects that impact customer lifetime value and retention.
•Build and maintain event-driven integrations across microservices.
•Create personalized and localized experiences for users across multiple countries in the region.

Key Requirements

•3+ years of professional experience building production-grade backend applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
•Strong proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL/MySQL and MongoDB.
•Solid understanding of the Java ecosystem: Hibernate, JDBC, Maven, and Gradle.
•Experience with event streaming (Kafka) and/or message queuing systems (RabbitMQ).
•Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS or GCP; frontend frameworks like VueJS or NuxtJS are a plus.
