Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, configure, and install Remote Telemetry Units (RTUs) for thermal, renewable, and BESS assets.
  • •Maintain plant RTU data telemetry between plant DCS, Generation Control System (GCS), and/or Transmission Service Provider (TSP), including testing, calibration, functional testing, troubleshooting, and upgrade changes.
  • •Perform testing and point-to-point checkout for new data requirements and new site communications between DCS and/or GCS/TSP.
  • •Troubleshoot and repair RTU communications systems and equipment using schematic diagrams and system knowledge.
  • •Revise and maintain RTU drawings and coordinate with outside vendors/business partners.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • •Five (5) years of job-related experience with RTUs highly preferred (documented RTU training is a plus).
  • •Experience with RTU communications equipment and associated media converters, fiber optic media, serial, and IP networks/protocols (Modbus & DNP3).
  • •Ability to perform setup, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs for Remote Telemetry Units and related equipment using schematic diagrams and system knowledge.
  • •Valid Driver's License required.
