Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare growout houses by installing metal and wire partitions, setting up feed systems, and transferring birds from FCR to growout and placing them in assigned pens.
  • •Provide daily flock care: calculate and record feed amounts, weigh feed using a hopper scale, monitor birds for injury/illness/slow growth, and take recovery or animal welfare actions.
  • •Maintain the flock environment by flushing water lines weekly, maintaining bedding standards, clearing dust from equipment, and checking feed/water/environmental control systems.
  • •Collect data on bird growth and development by analyzing and sorting as needed, weighing birds weekly, collecting weekly lab samples, and assisting with euthanasia for birds designated by the out list.
  • •Perform other assigned duties such as vehicle maintenance, using hoses for cleaning, and maintaining clean and organized work/break areas.

Key Requirements

  • •Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (18 months if laid off or providing child/elder care).
  • •Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines, including showering/changing before entering the facility.
  • •Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • •Must be able to perform physical requirements, including safe lifting and carrying feed up to 30 pounds and occasional lifting of shavings up to 12 pounds.
  • •Must follow safety policies and procedures, including required PPE and hazard-related practices.
