Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and perform NBIS/NTIS inspections under state DOT/transit/local regulations and WSP quality standards.
  • •Plan, coordinate, and oversee field inspection activities including scheduling, safety planning, equipment prep, and team assignments.
  • •Conduct hands-on inspections including rope access and specialized assessments such as fracture critical/NSTM and complex structures.
  • •Document and report inspection findings with detailed field notes, measurements, photographs, sketches, and condition ratings.
  • •Mentor junior inspectors and collaborate with structural engineers, project managers, and CAD technicians while communicating results and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • •7+ years of relevant post-education engineering experience with prior structural or civil design experience.
  • •NBIS Certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader with up-to-date certifications.
  • •Engineer license required.
  • •Strong understanding of AASHTO, FHWA, and state inspection standards, plus ability to use inspection tools and interpret structural plans and load rating analyses.
