Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and drive the direction for the design system across design and creative technology, tying initiatives to business and product decisions.
  • •Set and protect quality standards across usefulness, usability, and modernity, defining what “exceptional” looks like for each workstream.
  • •Lead a player-coach model: delegate audit/spec/token work to avoid bottlenecks and grow designers and technologists through coaching and ownership.
  • •Own the design-to-code bridge end to end, ensuring tokens, components, and specs move cleanly into engineering while meeting schedules and quality targets.
  • •Drive adoption and advocacy through education and regular communication, and collaborate with product, engineering, and research on strategy and priorities.

Salary: USD 155,100 - 293,800 annually

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years in design, including experience leading and growing teams, ideally in design systems, platform design, or a closely related space.
  • •Ability to work at the intersection of design and code, translating designs into production-quality UI and/or using code to inform design.
  • •Strong front-end skills, including TypeScript, React, CSS, and animation, with judgment for feasibility, scalability, and performance.
  • •Expertise in systems thinking and reusable component libraries, including tokens/variables and accessibility baked in.
  • •People-first leadership style with clear communication, coaching ability, and comfort influencing senior partners through narratives and shared ownership.
