Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead conceptual and technical design, development, and optimization of data architecture from target-state design through implementation and integration.
  • •Define the cloud data foundation using Azure Databricks, including source onboarding to the raw (Bronze) layer and transformation into the curated (Silver) layer.
  • •Establish patterns for data modeling, storage, ETL and ELT, APIs and MCP interfaces, and embed governance requirements for access control, data-loss prevention, metadata, lineage, and data quality.
  • •Own architecture decisions, guide legacy decoupling and migration, and lead architecture workstreams and project teams.
  • •Maintain architecture documentation and support knowledge transfer to the run organization with business, engineering, governance, and operations teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Several years of practical experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures and cloud data platforms, including ETL and ELT.
  • •Experience delivering data architectures across on-premises and cloud environments, preferably Azure Databricks.
  • •Strong conceptual data-modeling and practical data-engineering skills including enterprise data models, data structures, SQL, and NoSQL.
  • •Knowledge of governance and quality practices such as metadata, lineage, access controls, master data, and data-loss prevention.
  • •Fluency in English (German is advantageous) and ability to travel when required.
