Job Summary

Lead HVAC mechanical design for complex healthcare and commercial projects across the full lifecycle, from concept through construction close-out. Coordinate and review HVAC plans for efficiency, air quality, thermal comfort, and energy performance while ensuring code compliance. Apply advanced HVAC engineering methods for load calculations, sizing, and system design; develop future-ready technologies like energy-efficient systems and decarbonization strategies. Partner with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, and present technical findings to clients.

Key Responsibilities

•Coordinate, review, and approve HVAC design plans focused on system efficiency, air quality, thermal comfort, and energy performance while ensuring code compliance.
•Use mechanical and HVAC engineering techniques for concept development, load calculations, system sizing, final design, and building operations.
•Plan and design future-ready HVAC technologies, including energy-efficient systems, heat recovery, decarbonization strategies, and advanced control systems.
•Manage involvement from project inception through construction administration for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, including chilled water systems, air handling units, central utility plants, and specialized ventilation.
•Prepare technical reports and presentations and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders such as equipment vendors, contractors, and design partners.

Salary: USD 138,100 - 205,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related degree.
•10+ years of relevant post-education experience with a strong emphasis on HVAC system design, engineering calculations, and mechanical system integration.
•Professional Engineering license required.
•Extensive knowledge of HVAC design methodologies including ASHRAE standards, FGI Guidelines, and advanced ventilation principles.
•Proficient with HVAC engineering principles, including design/bid and design/build workflows, permitting design packages, and project execution.
