Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and oversee validation of credit risk and stress testing models across EMEA, including selected validations and review/adoption of Group validation outputs where appropriate.
  • •Ensure high-quality validation opinions, findings, recommendations, and effective tracking/remediation oversight with timely escalation to relevant stakeholders.
  • •Oversee the validation findings lifecycle, including issue severity assessment, remediation tracking, closure review, overdue escalation, and reporting to governance forums.
  • •Support build-out of the EMEA Model Validation Team (recruitment, onboarding, coaching, work allocation, quality review, procedure development, and repeatable validation standards).
  • •Communicate key findings, risks, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders, and align with EMEA Model Risk Management and Model Validation Americas teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science).
  • •Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in model validation, model development, credit risk modelling, stress testing, IFRS 9/ECL, capital modelling, risk analytics, or quantitative risk management.
  • •In-depth knowledge of credit risk and stress testing model types (credit rating models, PD/LGD/EAD, IFRS 9/ECL, loss reserve, credit portfolio, ICAAP and stress testing models).
  • •Strong knowledge of model risk, credit risk, and stress testing regulatory expectations (e.g., IFRS 9/ECL, ICAAP, EBA/ECB stress testing, CRR/CRD, MaRisk, BaFin/Bundesbank expectations).
  • •Strong quantitative/analytical capability and hands-on experience working with large, complex data sets, plus proficiency with Python, R, SQL, or SAS would be beneficial.
